JACKIE ROBINSON DAY

#42

Today marks the 60th Anniversary of one of the most important events in the 20th Century in America. Jackie Robinson took the field at first base at Ebbets Field with the Brooklyn Dodgers, making baseball truly America's pasttime. The Dodgers are my favorite baseball team and I as an adult baseball player still proudly wear number 42 in honor of the man who did so much more than just bring equality to baseball.
Jackie was a great athlete and a great baseball player. I have had the good fortune to have heard stories first hand of several who played with Jack, including: Duke Snider, Clem Labine, Carl Erskine, Johnny Podres and Preacher Roe.
As a Dodger fan, as a baseball player, as an American...
Thank you Jackie Robinson.

HAPPY EASTER

"The Sacrifice" by George Herbert

O all who pass by, behold and see;
Man stole the fruit, but I must climb the tree;
The tree of life to all, but only me:
Was ever grief like mine?
Lo, here I hang, charg'd with a world of sin,
The greater world o'th' two; for that came in
By words, but this by sorrow I must win:
Was ever grief like mine?
Such sorrow as, if sinful man could feel,
Or feel his part, he would not cease to knell.
Till all were melted, though he were all steel:
Was ever grief like mine?
But, O my God, my God! why leav'st thou me,
The son, in whom thou dost delight to be?
My God, my God ---
Never was grief liek mine.
Shame tears my soul, my body many a wound;
Sharp nails pierce this, but sharper that confound;
Reproaches, which are free, while I am bound.
Was ever grief like mine?
Now heal thy self, Physician; now come down.
Alas! I did so, when I left my crown
And father's smile for you, to feel his frown:
Was ever grief like mine?

ABC NEWS Channel 27 Story

Greg Rothman was on Channel 27 (ABC) talking about the residential real estate market. While some segments of the market are slow (over $500,000 and new construction) the $150,000 to $300,000 residential market remains brisk. Interest rates are still very attractive in the 5.75% to 6.25%.
