Re-elect Harrisburg Mayor Stephen R. Reed
The Harrisburg Patriot News had a nice profile on Harrisburg Mayor Stephen R. Reed in today's paper. On Tuesday, don't forget to vote. While he is unopposed for re-election there is a contested race for City Council. I am supporting Otto Banks and Linda Thompson for re-election. Click here to read Mayor Reed's biography.

Speaking of elections, with a primary only 6 months away and the pay raise fresh in the minds of voters, the legislature is now considering a large increase in the real estate transfer tax.
It is an awful proposal and a huge money grab for the state. They lower the sales tax by 1% and add essential purchases to the list of taxable items AND increase the real estate transfer tax by 200% -- and this from the Commonwealth Caucus who says they are "conservative." Ha!
